Have you ever wondered how natives of North Louisiana prepared their food before there were restaurants on every corner and easy to prepare meals at every grocery store in town? Mahaffey Farms & Chef HD Harris have paired up to bring you a chance to experience a culinary exploration of authentic North Louisiana cuisine prepared the ways our grandparents and great grandparents would have. This dinner series is about the idea of eating seasonally, and using the meat and produce that is native to our land.
On Sunday September 30th at 1pm, join Chef Hardette Harris and Evan McCommon as they host a Backyard BBQ at the farm. We will have barbecue chicken, ribs and sausage served with seasonal traditional side dishes. Get a chance to taste true pasture raised meats and local produce in the comfort of a family style backyard BBQ. There will also be a farm tour and cooking demo. We love being able to bring everyone together and celebrate local food. Can’t wait to see everyone!
